VIDEO: Emily Blunt Breaks Her Silence in New Monster-Filled ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ Teaser

“Peaky Blinders” actor Cillian Murphy co-stars in the March 20 horror sequel

February 26, 2020

Emily Blunt doesn’t mince words in new trailer for “A Quiet Place Part II,” the Stern Show veteran’s upcoming horror sequel about a family still struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where monsters eat anyone who makes a sound.

The clip begins with Emily and her children walking (quietly) through a field. “Run,” she whispers after the deadly monsters suddenly notice their presence. Run the Abbott family does and eventually they stumble across a new character played “Peaky Blinders” star Cillian Murphy.

“I don’t know why you came all the way up there. There’s nothing left,” he tells her.

“Please,” she responds. “There are people out there, people worth saving.” If the rest of the murder and mayhem-filled teaser is any indication, there are plenty of monsters out there, too.

Directed once again by actor, filmmaker, and Emily’s husband John Krasinski, “A Quiet Place Part II” co-stars Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Djimon Hounsou, and Lauren-Ashley Cristiano. While Blunt’s character seems to once again keep quiet throughout most of the film, Stern Show listeners may remember she doesn’t shy away from speaking in real life. When Emily sat down with Howard in 2015, she opened up about everything from her breakout film role in “The Devil Wears Prada” to obtaining her American citizenship. She also revealed talking hasn’t always come so easy for her, telling Howard she overcame a difficult stutter as a child thanks in part to her acting. Listen to a clip from their conversation (below).

“A Quiet Place Part II” opens March 20.
