Howard Pays Tribute to Wolfie’s Late Grandmother

Stern Show looks back at a phony phone call Sal and Richard made to her once

January 11, 2022

On Tuesday, Howard announced the sad news that Wolfie had lost his grandmother Verna who’d previously been heard a handful of times on the Stern Show. “My condolences Wolfie,” Howard told his staffer. “Your grandma gave us a lot of laughs over the years.”

To honor Verna, Howard played a phony phone call that saw Sal Governale and Richard Christy insisting her husband was not only feeling randy, but he was taking medication to enhance the experience. “I just wanted you to know that your husband’s prescription is ready—it’s Viagra,” Sal, as a pharmacist, told her. “He’s horny as hell, he’s been humping my leg like a wild dog, and he really wants to hump you.”

After she reacted unfavorably, Richard’s nurse Ethel suggested Wolfie’s grandmother should want her husband to take the erection medicine because it would make him happy – but she didn’t budge. “No, I don’t, because I don’t want to be happy,” she responded firmly.
