Stern Show staffer Sal Governale’s supposed spiritual powers were put to the ultimate test recently when he was tasked with predicting the outcome of Super Bowl LVI—while hypnotized. Under the supervision of Scott Schmaren, Sal proclaimed the Cincinnati Bengals would win the game by a score of 42-34 and that they’d also be the first team to score.

“Sal says he’s going to put up $500 of his own money on these predictions, he’s so convinced that he’s right,” Howard revealed Wednesday.

“Does he know who else is playing?” co-host Robin Quivers asked after realizing the staffer had failed to mention the Los Angeles Rams once during his entire session.

Noted gambling expert Jon Hein joined in on the conversation to go over some of the evening’s more interesting prop bets. “[There’s] $7.6 billion being wagered this year, you can bet on anything with this game—it’s crazy,” he told Howard before giving the odds on the length of the national anthem. “I think the over/under is one minute and thirty seven seconds … it’s tricky, you never know how it’s going to go.”

When Jon brought up the chances of rapper and weed enthusiast Snoop Dogg smoking marijuana during the halftime show, Chris Wilding was all in. “I think he’s for sure smoking,” the staffer remarked. “I think that’s part of being a rebel. You smoke onstage, you curse.”

“Don’t you want to do the unexpected and not smoke?” Howard countered. “I would take money that Snoop will not be smoking onstage.”

“I agree with you because he has a lot of endorsement deals,” Robin added. “He needs to be seen as somebody who can be relied upon in a given situation.”
