Just one day after he was deemed the most difficult Wack Packer, Sour Shoes surprised everyone by calling into the show live — and actually speaking — for the first time in several years.

Despite uncertainty whether he’d actually stay on the phone, the skilled impressionist came out of the gate strong with his take on the late Don Imus. “Now that’s the Sour I love,” Howard told the caller. “I did miss you … this is fantastic.”

After Sour Shoes fired off his impressions of both Mike Francesa and Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, Richard Simmons, and executive producer Gary Dell’Abate, Howard was pleased. “Finally, that was a real appearance — you’ve got to love that boy,” he remarked. “I’m glad he came out of hiding.”
