VIDEO: AC/DC's Brian Johnson Performs 'Back in Black' With Muse

Brian Johnson performed one of his first AC/DC songs in over a year on Sunday when he teamed up with Muse at England’s Reading Festival to deliver a thrilling rendition of “Back in Black.”

Johnson, the longtime frontman of AC/DC, stepped away from the band last March after being diagnosed with a hearing issue which could have reportedly resulted in his “total deafness.” The band then wound up borrowing Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose for some of its remaining “Rock or Bust” tour dates.

After later consulting another medical specialist, however, Johnson reportedly received a more optimistic prognosis. This past May he even sang “Money (That’s What I Want)” alongside Robert Plant and Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers.

The crowd at Reading Festival went wild for Johnson and Muse’s performance of “Back in Black” and as the song ended Johnson revealed he was grateful to have the opportunity to sing the AC/DC classic again. “That means a lot to me, thank you so much, thank you boys,” he told the band.

It’s unclear whether this signals Johnson’s willingness to tour once more with AC/DC. Of course, the rock icon and former Stern Show guest could always decide to pursue a career in comedy. When comedian Jim Breuer sat down with Howard last June he revealed Johnson—his good friend—is actually quite hilarious. “He’s the funniest guy.” Breuer told Howard. So funny, in fact, the “Saturday Night Live” veteran said he was convinced Johnson could actually have a successful career as a stand-up comic. He even compared him to Tracy Morgan, saying, “[Brian’s] as naturally funny.”
