VIDEO: Charlize Theron Cries Over Spilt Breast Milk in New ‘Tully’ Trailer

Jason Reitman-directed, Diablo Cody-scripted comedy hits theaters April 20

March 8, 2018

Charlize Theron is an overwhelmed mother literally crying over spilt breast milk in the official trailer for “Tully,” an upcoming comedy reuniting her with “Young Adult” director Jason Reitman and screenwriter Diablo Cody.

The new clip from Focus Features (above) begins with a montage of motherly miscues, as Charlize’s character Marlo falls asleep while watching her children, drops a cellphone on her newborn’s head, and walks away from an open bag of freshly pumped breast milk — only to then watch it topple over and spill out.

Indeed, she’s struggling to keep it all together, and her video-game loving husband (Ron Livingston) isn’t offering her much help. Everything changes, however, after her loving brother (Mark Duplass) gifts her assistance in the form of a night nanny named Tully (Mackenzie Davis), who can not only help Marlo take care of her kids but also help her take care of herself.

Charlize told Howard how much she enjoyed working on “Tully” with Reitman when she made her Stern Show debut last July. She also discussed wage equality, nearly turning down an Oscar-winning role, and what it took to train for her spy thriller “Atomic Blonde.” The actress didn’t speak specifically about child-rearing or night nannies during her conversation with Howard, but she did open up about her love live and recounted an “incredible” date she had recently enjoyed.
