PHOTOS: Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Sarah Silverman Share Awkward Teen Photos to Support Puerto Rico

In the process of promoting “Big Mouth”—Nick Kroll’s new animated Netflix comedy about the hilarious horrors of puberty—Kroll and late-night host Stephen Colbert have inspired a number of celebrities to flaunt photos from their own awkward teen years to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
During a sit down Wednesday on Colbert’s “Late Show,” the actor, comedian, and recent Wrap Up Show guest issued the “#PuberMe” challenge, inviting all of the Hollywood heavyweights watching the show to post pictures of their pubescent years in the hopes of helping awkward teens everywhere realize they are not alone.
“I’m shouting you out, The Rock. I’m shouting you out, The Hillary Clinton,” Kroll told Colbert, adding “there’s catharsis in showing who we were and what we became.”
Not only did Colbert accept Kroll’s challenge and publish an embarrassing teen photo, but he also promised to donate money to his hurricane relief-focused Americone Dream Fund for every celebrity who followed his lead.
Before long a multitude of mega stars were posting similarly awkward teen photos, from Stern Show regulars like Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, and Judd Apatow to Paul Scheer, Mark Duplass, Mike Bloomberg, Topher Grace, Kroll’s “Big Mouth” co-star John Mulaney, and “Annihilation” actress Gina Rodriguez.
These are of course only a few of many celebrities working to help support Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, which left millions of Americans without electricity and low on vital supplies like food and water. 2016 Stern Show guest Pitbull, for instance, sent his own private plane to Puerto Rico in the hopes of transporting cancer patients, while “Hamilton’s” Lin Manuel Miranda has penned an impassioned plea in the Hollywood Reporter calling for people to donate to the Hispanic Federation.
